HOW OLD MUST A CHILD BE ?
We are registered to take children from two years old. However, children usually start at Pre-School at the beginning of the term after they are two and half.
CAN I STAY ?
It may be a good idea to stay for a while during the first few sessions while your child is becoming familiarised with routines. However, you may feel that your child will cope better without you- it’s really up to you.
CLOTHING
Your child will need to wear comfortable, informal clothing where the occasional splash of paint or glue will not upset you too much, although overalls are provided for the messier activities! Soft soled shoes such as sandals or trainers are preferred as they are safer on the climbing frame, trampoline and in the outdoor area.
ILLNESS
We do rely on your common sense and would ask you not to send your child to Pre-School if there is any doubt that he/she may be infectious. Please read our Health and Hygiene Policy and Practice. We ask you not to send your child to Pre-School if they have vomited or had diarrhoea in the last 48 hours. If a child (in part time care) misses a day because of sickness and providing that places are available, we are happy to swap the missed day for another day of the week.
FIRST AID/ ACCIDENTS
Minor First Aid can be given by staff, and an Accident Book is kept at Pre-School which you will be asked to sign in acknowledgement of any First Aid administered. If your child is involved in a serious accident, you will be contacted immediately. If your child may need medication administered during the session you will be asked to complete and sign the medication record book.
NO SMOKING POLICY
We comply with health and safety regulations and the Welfare Requirements of the EYFS in making our setting a non-smoking Environment.
